Blog Bloom Has Arrived!

Flyer I’m so happy to announce the launch of my latest project – Blog Bloom! After being a freelancer for almost a year now and always getting asked questions about blogging, website development and design and social media, I figured it would just be easier (and more exciting) to host my own workshops for creatives around Philadelphia. I already hosted my first class earlier this year called “Keep Calm and Blog On: WordPress 101 for Beginner Bloggers,” and I was able to meet my good friend Celestine there (thanks for attending girl!).

Blog Bloom will consist of many different workshops held during weeknights or weekends around Philadelphia and taught by myself and good friend Lisa Yoder. Each workshop will be focused on a different digital skill (SEO, social media, graphic design, etc.) and last around an hour and a half. Blog Bloom will also host full-day workshops on weekends where bloggers, entrepreneurs, and small business owners can learn how to build their own clean and beautiful website. Putting the power back into the hands of the people, we say!

So go on and visit Blog Bloom and share the info with your friends and family. I plan on having some awesome swag bags for attendees, delicious food and drinks, and most of all, tons of learning resources, tips, shortcuts and more! Hurry up and register because space is limited, and I hope to see you all in a Blog Bloom workshop in the near future. To keep in the know with upcoming workshops, email HelloBlogBloom@gmail.com.

(P.S. I’ll be hosting my first “test” class this Tuesday with a few local bloggers. Stay tuned for the recap!)

Vintage Social Media

I just saw this image on Facebook, and I love it. Oh, how things change!

Atlantic City

I went to celebrate my good friend Yesha’s 26th birthday in Atlantic City last weekend. The boy and I haven’t even been on a vacation out-of-state yet (being a workaholic has its downside…), so I thought this was the perfect opportunity for us to go a little clubbin’ and a little beachin’. We had tons of fun dancing in the crazy smoked-filled Mur Mur, and then detoxed a bit on the beach the next morning. We also hit up some outlet stores and got his and hers cleats and some other active wear (be prepared to see my thighs in yoga pants soon ha!). We had an awesome weekend and Joshua definitely was inspired to take some more vacations soon. I’ve been eyeing some Living Social deals on Bed & Breakfasts in some boondocks around PA, so hopefully we can book an excursion soon! Check out some memories from Atlantic City below! (P.S. I heart gifs!)

Maximize Your PR – Infographic

Here’s a great infographic from Cognito Media on maximizing your PR using social media and other tactics. It’s a great checklist for those of us trying to manage accounts and clients in the ever-changing digital world. My favorite tip is to use bit.ly links to track effectiveness and ROI. It’s easy to use and so worth it, especially when you have links flying around all over the interwebs.

What are some of your favorite PR and Social Media tips?

Friends

I’m a little behind on some blogging and photos, so I thought I’d share a few random friend photos from the past few weeks. Also, I need an umbrella. This past week has been insane with the monsoon rain here in Philly. Help!

Good Hair Day

I just want a good hair day. Actually, I want a fabulous hair day! I’m thinking about dying my hair a new color, but don’t know if I should lean towards honey highlights, an ombre effect (is this trend dead?) or go back to basics with a jet black.

What do you all suggest for a fun summer hairstyle?

Time To Get Some Sun!

Here’s a summer goal of mine: get bronze-y! Not that this photo of Adriana Lima makes this goal a little unrealistic. But hey, we can dream! What’s one of your summer goals?

Joshua in Old City

From the looks of this blog, my boyfriend Joshua should be a blog model. I just get so awkward in front of the camera so I choose to shoot other people. Joshua loves the attention anyway! Below are some shots of us in Old City during a nice spring morning. We should probably start heading to some new parts of town soon…
