One more event for this weekend is the Philadelphia Science Festival! I’ll be working a table with PW at the outdoors Science Carnival on the Ben Franklin Parkway from 10am-5pm. Here’s the description from the website: “You’ve never experienced an outdoor carnival like this one! The event features more than 80 exhibitors offering non-stop family-friendly experiments, interactive activities, games, and a packed line-up of live entertainment. Enjoy liquid nitrogen ice cream, make gak, meet live zoo animals, check out the inner-workings of robots, take a tour of a helicopter, extract DNA from a strawberry, test a “crime scene” for forensic evidence, and so much more! Be sure to visit the Philadelphia Book Festival’s Street Fair, held in conjunction the Science Carnival and just a few steps away!”
Bring out our inner Bill Nye this Saturday! For more information, click here for the website. The Philadelphia Science Festival is a 2-week festival with over 120 events for the public to become more informed about science, engineering and technology. Definitely something to keep an eye out for in upcoming years as well!
I’ll be working at the Philadelphia Weekly table at this Sunday’s Fairmount Arts Crawl! Never heard of it? I haven’t either but it seems to be an annual event sponsored by the Fairmount Community Development Corporation that transforms nearly 40 local businesses into art galleries for the day. It’s a family-friendly (and free!) event open to the public for anyone to enjoy over 70 artists, dancing demonstrations, live music and other fun activities! Stay tuned for pictures later as I swindle a few images here and there while promoting the PW newspaper!
So come check it out this Sunday from 2-6pm in the Fairmount neighborhood of Philly! For more information, check out their website here! Caio!
Center City Philadelphia will be hosting a free Gallery Night this Friday from 5-9pm! A bunch of cool little galleries will be open later than usual as local Philadelphians are invited to check out impressive local art, mingle, eat food and enjoy a cultural Friday night. Check out the link here for all of the participating galleries!
Anyone want to go?!
