Skirts That Are Long

July 8, 2013

I’m in the mood for some pretty maxi skirts to add to my wardrobe. I have a ton of pretty blouses and tops dying for a flow-y counterpart, so I’ve decided to create a little maxi skirt inspiration board today. Here are some of my favorite designs, colors and styles of maxi skirts right now, and you can find more information on them with the links below!

What are some of your favorite maxi skirts on the market right now?

An Evening with Patrick Michael

June 3, 2013

A few Philly FABB members came to the Union League last week for a sneak peak at the handcrafted elegance of Patrick Michael Accessories. With bags, clutches and wallets all made from discontinued fabrics from mills around the world, PM Accessories is a creative brand based locally in Philadelphia. The event was a great time to meet the designer himself, Patrick Michael, as well as mingle with fellow bloggers in the swanky VIP Union League venue. Take a look at Patrick Michael’s site and let me know what you think of his one-of-a-kind bags!

Tangy Tangerine

May 26, 2013

I’ve been doing a lot of online window shopping. You know, when you fill up your online shopping carts to the brim only to regretfully exit out of the tab itself. Le sigh. Anyway, I thought I’d let you all take a little sneak peak at some of my current tangerine favorites on the web! Maybe I’ll start a new series for these colorful finds, who knows…

I stumbled upon this photo via Pinterest today because of the loud colors, bright patterns and overall mod feel, and realized it’s from this pretty cool company called Marimekko. They’re a Finnish (yay, shoutout to Finland!) company that “designs textiles, fashion, and household goods with a unique point-of-view. In fact, everything we do, make, and create strives to inspire imagination and self-expression in people everywhere. The celebrated, Finnish entrepreneur Armi Raita founded Marimekko in 1951 with a singular vision: create fresh designs that never go out of style. In the 1960s and 70s, Marimekko exploded into a visionary design house that helped revolutionize modern design by giving the world some its most iconic textile patterns. This dedication to creativity continues to thrive today, as we pioneer good design and good times into homes everywhere.”

Gotta love the innovation and enthusiasm! Their ads remind me of a Finnish Target commercial, so check out some of my favorite Marimekko moments from their Spring 2013 Resort Collection:

I Tried To Act Serious.

February 8, 2013

So, I had a fabulous time at IFB yesterday! I met some awesome bloggers, got a bunch of free goodies, and rejuvenated my overall inspiration for creating a business and brand. In the downtime, my friend Chaucee of Streets & Stripes Photography snapped up a few photos of me where the streets have noooo name (insert U2 soundtrack). Well, it was actually around 18th and 7th, but New York is just a big stew of craziness for me.

Anyway, check it out! The whole outfit was thrifted at Buffalo Exchange the day before (gotta love the last minute-ness), and includes a skirt by Gap, blouse by some random brand, booties by Steve Madden, bow ring and necklace by Forever 21, plug ring from eBay, and watch by ASOS.
