From the looks of this blog, my boyfriend Joshua should be a blog model. I just get so awkward in front of the camera so I choose to shoot other people. Joshua loves the attention anyway! Below are some shots of us in Old City during a nice spring morning. We should probably start heading to some new parts of town soon…

Why Must You Be So Delicious Han Dynasty?
Growing up, my parents had a few very close friends. One of them (the lovely Sree Aunty) came to visit this past weekend and to celebrate, I took everyone out to some delicious Han Dynasty in Old City. Known for the authentic Szechuan cooking and spicy food, my parents and Sree Aunty loved it. They were astounded at how different and yummy the food was compared to “that other Chinese food.” We got a bunch of dished included the popular Dan Dan noodles, Beef and Tripe in Chili Oil, Cumin Lamb, Garlic Sauce Chicken and Dry Pepper Style Fish (aka Flounder). My mouth is actually salivating right now. Anyway, the food is beyond delicious and I recommend it to everyone willing to try out some spicy and flavorful nomnoms. Check out the pics below (I like Joshua’s really awkward face with my family), and let me know next time you go to Han Dynasty!

Hi Eric!

So I made a new friend here in Philadelphia, and he likes to go by @EricSmithRocks! Social Media Manager for a small publishing company in Old City called Quirk Books and co-founder of the oh-so-awesome Geekadelphia, Eric is a fellow creative and Philly go-getter! We met for the first time to have a casual happy hour at King’s Oak (their sweet potato fries are to die for!!), followed by some browsing at vintage store Jinx, and ending with a mini-photoshoot in the Piazza. Overall, it’s been great connecting with Eric and I hope to learn A LOT from his Jedi ways.
Event Recap: A/S/L
I attended last week’s Philly Tech Week event with my boyfriend Joshua titled A/S/L: Love & Tech featuring co-founder of Geekadelphia Eric Smith, author and Shmitten Kitten blogger Anna Goldfarb, and online dating expert Erika Ettin at the Philly.com office on 8th & Market. The event was casual and entertaining – got to munch on yummy food from Melting Pot, champagne was flowin’ and stories of horror/success stories from online dating were being shared. As a reformed Ok Cupid-er, it was pretty fun listening to the speakers (and even a few people from the audience) openly talk about their personal experiences on their pursuit of virtual love. I should have had enough guts to go up at the end of the event to tell my own horror stories, but maybe next year. Take a look at photos from the event below!

First Friday – Old City Adventures
I attended First Friday this past Friday (duh) in Old City to celebrate some local art, boutiques, and music. It went well and it was great to see people everywhere. Living the freelance life has its downfalls as I’ve become a hermit. I’m going to say that it’s because of winter and the obvious hibernation, but I really need to get out more! I’m such an extrovert (and I love being one), that it’s only natural for me to meet new people and socialize. With the spring weather surrounding us now, I’m thinking of working more outside (wherever I can find wifi, of course) and talking to more people. It’ll only inspire my work even more.
Anywhoooo, enjoy the pics below as my bee-eff Joshua, friend Jacqui of Burgundy Whispers, and I venture around the beautiful Old CIty boutiques and art galleries!

The event will be this Saturday, March 9 from 1pm – 6pm at the 13th and Chestnut location, and vendors Federal Donuts and La Colombe Coffee will be feeding the crowds. Check out the participating Etsy-sellers below to take a sneak peak at which items will be up for sale. Find any favorites? Let me know in the comments below!
