Let’s Shop For The New Year!

Now that Christmas has come, serious sales are about to hit stores starting tomorrow and lasting until New Years. Here are some of the things I’ve been eyeing lately for the New Year…you know, to get those resolutions all ready and stuff! :)

LetsShop

1. Perfume – (COACH POPPY FLOWER): I just smelled this at Kohl’s the other day (well, I accidentally sprayed it in my face, got blinded for a second, and then really enjoyed the scent for the rest of my shopping experience), and fell in love). It has a touch of wet ivy grapefruit, mandarin, jasmine, amberwood, musk, sandalwood and more! It’s a girly smell that means business and perfect for 2013! I mean, who wants to go to a business or client meeting smelling like you haven’t showered in two days trying to finish a deadline…I sure don’t!

2. New Lens – (Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro Telephoto Zoom Lens): I’ve been testing out some of my brother’s lenses during this break, and I’m in love. My Canon T2I needs some lens lovin’ for the new year so I can start taking some awesome-r pics for my blog and business. Other than a 50mm lens that I’ve been eyeing, this is next on my list.

3. Inspirational Book – (Creative, Inc.: The Ultimate Guide to Running a Successful Freelance Business): From freelancing pros Meg Mateo Ilasco and Joy Deangdeelert Cho, this book is a must for my collection! I’m in the midst of starting my own freelance marketing and design business, so this book will be the perfect jumpstart to my new career move. They explain “everything from creating a standout portfolio to navigating the legal issues of starting a business.”

4. Motivation To Work Out! – (ALTERNATIVE Drawstring Yoga Pants): I’m going to dedicate this new year to getting healthier and being more in shape. (Yah, yah that’s what everyone says!). As an avid sports player, I’ve already signed up for two indoor soccer leagues and one indoor kickball league via Philadelphia Sports Network for this winter season! These yoga pants would be great motivation for me to start doing some more Bikram Yoga, which is by far the best yoga I’ve ever done. I end up feeling less stressed, clear in my mind, more focuses, healthier, and just an overall endorphin high. Trust me, try Bikram Yoga!

So, what are you all eyeing to buy for the New Year and why? Let me know in the comments below!

#BlackFriday Deals!

It’s that time ladies and gents…get your credit cards ready for BLACK FRIDAY! (Why’s it gotta be black though? Can’t be Brown Friday?!) ANYWAY, check out some of my favorite deals for this magical shopping holiday. On the count of three…say consumerism!

ASOS – Extra 20% off your order of fabulous and fashionable items, including everything on sale! Just use the code BLACKFRIDAYBONUS to redeem it (and you get FREE shipping with all orders!!).

Dorothy Parker – This site is offering 25% off everything on their site if you use the code DPHOLIDAY25 at the checkout. The Kardashians just did a collection on their site (think typical leopard print, leather and spandexy clothing they love to wear), so definitely worth a look for a good chuckle.

Buy our clothes…somebody, please buy our leopard spandex leotard.

Duke & WinstonA Philly fave of mine, Duke & Winston is offering you 25% off everything! Just use code DUKESGIVING to get your Nantucket-chic on.

The Fancy – This “e-commerce for Pinterest” is having a sweet 20% off deal for all of their products when you use the code BLCKFRI. With that deal, you can get pretty funky gifts for all of your friends like this “Strong Man Toilet Paper Holder” now for sale (with shipping) for $31.95.

I know, this is a home must-have!

Kembrel – Philadelphia boutique known for their “pop-up shops” is having a Black Friday sale of 40% off everything until 11am Friday using code KEMBLK11.

Miss KarmaloopTake an additional 40% off already reduced items with code MADNESS40! You could get this sexy La Mer “Gold Square Case Wrap Watch in Purple Patent” for only $36 after using this code (from $92.00). I’m sold.

I want :(

Modcloth – “Ohhhh beautiful dresses la la la.” Oh sorry, that whimsical, self-written song always comes to my mind whenever I bring up Modcloth. They are having a bunch of items for up to 50% off for a “‘Tis The Season Sale,” so hurry and shop!

Moo CardsNeed some new business cards? I like using Moo.com for creating some custom and cute cards, perfect for any industry. Here’s their deal – “From November 22 until November 27 (11:59pm PST), we’re offering a massive 30% off our printed products* – including new Gloss CardsLuxeHoliday Cards (with loads of new designs!) plus all our Accessories as well.” Get creating!

Sephora – Who doesn’t need new makeup!? Sephora is having a pretty sweet deal where select products are only $10. The products they have are awesome, and definitely a steal for that low price!

Ahhhhh gotta stock up, gotta stock up!

Ok, I need to stop researching deals and start getting in on all of them. Happy shopping and sayonara!

Flea Market Extravaganza!

I love Sweden. I love Swedish people. I love Swedish meatballs. I also love shopping.

Therefore, I will love the American Swedish Historical Museum’s 2nd Annual Flea Market tomorrow (Saturday, September 17th) at FDR Park by the stadium from 9am-2pm. You can also visit the museum for free once you’re down there! For more info, click on the American Swedish Historical Museum here!

Also tomorrow is another huge flea market on 3rd and Pine from 9am-5pm, thanks to Phila Flea Markets. Another location full of potential treasures and new house decorations! The old lady inside me will be coming out, so watch out people.

Treasures!!

More treasures!! And really excited vendors!!

When is the best time to buy something?

Shop wisely!

Found this cool infographic via Savings.com on when to purchase certain things for the best deals throughout a normal year. It goes as granular by what day you should buy certain items. Pretty cool info to keep in mind for larger purchases! Just remember to purchase your champagne and hardware ONLY in June. Or else…
